How to pair cheese with beer
Sometimes we fancy a beer, and as a cheese lover, a beer with cheese really hits the spot. When it comes to pairing cheese with other ingredients, we rarely just pick a cheese and ingredient at random, then mash them up together. It’s just the same with beer… so here’s our advice on how to pair the right beer with the right cheese, for a delicious result.
As always, Chef Greg shares his experience on how to enjoy our wonderful cheeses.
Pair beer with the brie-like Dorothy’s Comeback Cow
Chef Greg recommends Lena Hefeweizen, a wheat beer with hints of banana. The banana flavor goes well with Comeback Cow’s brie-like rind. A spot of honey will bring it all together for a refreshing snack.
Pair beer with triple crème cheese Sant Andre
Saint Andre triple cream is so buttery and creamy that it could change the taste of your beer. That’s why Chef Greg recommends Omission Lager, a bright, crisp beer, that can stand up to strong tastes. With such light creaminess, you might also want to add salted pretzels.
Pair a strong beer with Saint Agur
Saint Agur is a creamy and light blue, but still one with a strong taste. It is best matched with a strong brown beer, such as Lena’s Caramel Pecan Coffee Stout.
